Youth Awards
The Rotary Club of West Jacksonville recognizes the academic achievements of 3 students each from 7 high schools on the Westside. The high schools are Ed White, Lee, Baldwin, Forrest, Bishop Snyder, Paxon, and the Peterson. Plaques are awarded for Math, English, Science, Technical Skills and Culinary achievements. The awards ceremony takes place during a regular meeting, and includes a motivational speaker. This year, former UF quarterback and current JU head football coach Kerwin Bell will speak. At the end of the ceremony, one student from each school is selected to receive a $1,000 college scholarship.
