Fellowship at the Rotary Leadership Institute

Fellow Rotarians,

I wanted to take a minute to thank you for the wonderful experience at the Rotary Leadership Institute earlier this month. RLI was a great opportunity to learn about the fundamental aspects of Rotary in a fellowship setting while gaining insights from both new and experienced members’ perspectives. I attended part one. Our group had members with as little as 1 week ‘new’ members to 37 year long members. So, we discussed a great deal of issues about leadership, Rotary administration, Rotary International, member retention, and the Foundation. We also talked about some of the personal, more human aspects of Rotary which make it more successful than many other organizations and keep us all coming back. Finally, we went through an overview of service projects discussing the various stages such as planning, execution, and community needs.

At the end, Governor Clint participated in the graduating ceremony, or distribution of the certificates, depending on how formal you want to be.

The information was very interesting; however, in the end, it came down to a great day of fellowship. I was around a great bunch of people talking about, and getting to know a little more about an organization we really enjoy participating in. I even managed to run into a Fraternity brother and a Navy buddy I haven’t seen in many years.

Thanks again.
