• The Rotary Club of West Jacksonville was founded on June 16, 1967.

  • Membership Roster includes all Rotary Clubs in Duval and Clay counties, also Ponte Vedra Beach. Roster also includes current Officers, Directors and Committee Assignments.
  • Sponsorship of Interact Club, Bishop Snyder High School; includes mentoring and Career Day activities.
  • Sponsorship of EarlyAct Club, Chaffee Trail Elementary School; includes mentoring and Career Day activities.
  • Annual Christmas party in December for members, spouses and guests.
  • Annual President’s Night dinner party in June for members, spouses and guests
  • Annual Charity Grant assessment and award to local charity following applications and screening by Charity Grant Committee.
  • Off-site luncheon meetings at schools, government and business facilities in our area.
  • Golf and tennis outings for members at a local country club and occasional additional social affairs for members, spouses and guests.
  • Support various volunteer programs including Salvation Army’s annual Christmas bell-ringing in December, Toys for Tots, Adopt-A-Highway, blood drives, river clean up projects and serving food to the homeless.
  • Annual spring Youth Awards plaques and recognition of superior students from 6 local high schools in the fields of fine arts, math and science, and business.
  • Annual monetary scholarship awards to matriculating college freshmen.
  • President-Elect attends annual R.I. Convention at Club’s expense.
  • Funding participant in the sum of $1,000 in the annual Duval County Rotary Teacher of the Year Award & Ceremony, (EDDY Awards).
  • Quarterly during the Rotary year, we recognize police officers and teachers for exceptional service to their community.
  • During the year, new members are asked to give a 5 minute “How I Got Where I am at…” talk during a weekly luncheon meeting.
  • Annual J.J. McCranie Service Above Self Award, including a Paul Harris Fellowship presented to the Club’s most out-standing non-officer or director member.
  • Annual Robert T. Shircliff Award presented to a member who has distinguished himself in a non-Rotary Club endeavor.
  • Year-long promotion for every member to be a continuing Paul Harris Sustainer
  • Participation by the entire membership throughout the year in delivering the weekly invocation; leading the pledge to the flag; greeting members and guests at the door; and reciting the 4-Way Test.
  • Attendance at P.E.T.S., District Conference, District Assembly and Rotary Foundation Meeting.
  • Publicize at local colleges the availability of Rotary Ambassadorial Scholarships and seek and encourage qualified applicants.
  • Strive to maintain quality membership.
  • Participation in International Youth Exchange Program.
  • Administrative duties are handled by our Executive Secretary.
